What are Mala Beads?
Have you ever wondered what Mala beads or Prayer beads are for?
I wasn't sure exactly so I checked out an amazing blog which cleared up a few things.
Essentially they have been used for centuries for prayer and meditation. For the mala beads specifically, you hold the beads in a special way, and hold one bead in particular and recite a short prayer or mantra. When you've finished, move to the next bead.
There are generally 108 beads with a final Guru bead. So if you work your way around the whole beads, you would have recited the mantra 108 times (and more than likely in a more settled/spiritual headspace).
