Citrine – A Keeper of Joy, Abundance & Warm Positive Energy

A Citrine Bead Strand radiates warmth, brightness and uplifting energy. Its sunny golden tones inspire confidence, optimism and emotional light — making it a favourite for joyful, abundance‑themed jewellery and intention pieces.

Most citrine available worldwide (including bead strands) is known as Common Citrine, a form of quartz that began its life as amethyst. Through heat — either deep within the earth or by careful human heating — its natural iron colouring transforms from purple into shades of gold, honey and amber.

This is a fully accepted and long‑standing process in the crystal world, and the resulting stone still carries the energetic qualities people love citrine for.

Some makers feel heat‑treated citrine has a warm, fire‑infused quality, while others see no difference at all between natural and heat‑transformed citrine. Regardless, its joyful and uplifting energy remains deeply appreciated.

For jewellery creators, bead strands offer excellent value, consistency, and creative freedom. Buying by the strand gives enough beads for multiple finished pieces — bracelets, earrings, necklaces, malas, keyrings or intention jewellery — with a much lower cost per bead, allowing you to:

  • Increase margins on your handmade pieces
  • Create cohesive jewellery sets with matching golden tones
  • Enjoy consistent bead size and colour
  • Craft multiple designs from a single strand

Form & Structure

Number of Beads per Strand: 110-125
Approx. Length of Strand: 38-39cm

Each strand contains polished Citrine quartz beads, ranging from golden yellow to honey‑orange tones.
Beads may include:

  • soft internal clouding
  • gentle iron‑based sparkling inclusions
  • natural quartz veils
  • deeper or lighter patches depending on the original amethyst structure

Perfect for joyful, energising jewellery or bright intention‑based pieces.

About Common Citrine (Heat‑Treated Amethyst)

Most citrine found in bead form is amethyst that has been heated to produce its golden colour. This transformation changes only the colour centres (iron states) in the quartz structure.

Sources confirm:

  • This is how most commercial citrine is created.
  • Natural citrine is rare; heat‑treated citrine is the standard form in the jewellery market.
  • All citrine — natural or heat‑formed — is still quartz, and many crystal teachers say the metaphysical energy remains similar, with only the colour influencing the tone of the energy.

This form is often called Common Citrine or Heat‑Treated Citrine.

Its beauty, warmth and emotional brightness are still deeply cherished.

Assorted Crystals – Important Note

When a product is labelled “assorted,” the example photos show possibilities only.
Your strand will be similar in colour and quality but not identical — each bead varies naturally in tone, clarity and internal texture.

Note on Dyed, Frosted or Heat‑Treated Beads

Agate, quartz and other porous stones may be dyed, frosted or heat‑treated to enhance appearance. Heat‑treated citrine forms by heating amethyst until its colour shifts. These enhancements affect appearance only; the underlying mineral remains quartz.

Healing and Metaphysical Properties of Citrine

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this real citrine?
It is real quartz that began as amethyst and was heated to become golden. This form is known as Common Citrine or Heat‑Treated Citrine, and is the most common form of citrine in bead strands.
Natural citrine exists but is rare and usually much lighter in colour.

Does heat‑treated citrine still have metaphysical properties?
Yes. Many teachers say that because heat‑treated and natural citrine share the same quartz structure, their energies are similar — with only slight differences linked to colour.

Why does most citrine on the market come from heat‑treated amethyst?
Because natural citrine is rare, and amethyst is abundant. Heating amethyst transforms its iron content, producing the golden colour associated with citrine.

What can I make with this strand?
Bracelets, earrings, necklaces, malas, keyrings, intention pieces and uplifting jewellery designs.

While we do our best to ensure that our stock levels are correct, we sometimes find that the system says we have more of something than we actually do (e.g. shoplifting). If the product you ordered is not available we will contact you and give you the opportunity to choose from the following…

    • Refund
    • Wait for us to get one for you
    • Choose another item
