My counselling room is a safe and confidential place to encourage your emotional growth and healing.  This allows you to resolve problems and make positive changes in order to live a more happy and fulfilled life. Sometimes an opportunity to talk something through with someone who is trained to listen attentively and objectively, without judging or offering direct advice, can provide a tremendous relief. I use a holistic, client-centred and strength-based approach and I love supporting people to be the best version of themselves.

I work with many issues including ~

  • Raising children with special needs and challenges
  • Supporting people who live with disability
  • Pregnancy, neonatal journeys and maternal health
  • Reducing stress, depression and anxiety
  • Self awareness, self care and self love

Number of Sessions

Initially most people come to Counselling for brief periods to discuss a current concern. All clients start with a short commitment (flexible but usually around 6 weeks), towards the end of which we review what you need and decide whether to continue or have a final session. My first concern is to establish trust, and from here we work to understand what's happening for you, and how you can make positive changes.

Long Term Counselling

Some times you may need counselling for longer which is completely up to you.  Unlike with other short term therapies my clients have the opportunity to stay for longer periods to work more deeply.

Ethics

I am a full member of The New Zealand Association of Counsellors. As such I abide by and am answerable to their code of ethics, including Confidentiality.

See www.nzac.org.nz for more details.

I am available Monday to Friday during school hours at 24 Campbell Street, Palmerston North.

My fee is $100 per hour, funding options may be available.
